The
PDS is the programmable member of the Transtech Systems hand held
product family. It’s rugged and fully functional. A comprehensive
applications programming interface (API) allows a programmer to access
services provided by the Operating System (OS). Through the API, everything
from the tiniest nuance of a custom display pattern to high level
operations are easily put under direct application control. PDS features
128K bytes of flash EEPROM and 32K bytes of battery-backed static
RAM. It is programmable in C or Assembler on your PC.
Available options include rechargeable battery power with twelve hours
of operation per charge and the RS-232, RS-422, and multi-drop RS-485
interfaces. A multi-drop network software development platform is
also available.
Like all Transtech Systems hand held products, the PDS is remarkably
rugged and specifically designed for industrial use. Its case is molded
from General Electric Cycolac® ABS, one of the most durable, chemical-resistant
materials available. A unique built-in retractable hanger is provided.
The keypad surface is securely framed and clamped into place to ensure
excellent splash resistance.
